  • 1 serving of puff pastry
  • 8 hot dog sausages
  • 3 tablespoons mustard
  • 3 slices of Edam
  • Pickled cucumbers, sliced
  • roasted onions
  • 1 egg , whisked

That is how it goes:

1.) Spread the puff pastry and place the sausages in the middle: four next to each other and above that the other four.
2) Then you spread the sausages thick with the mustard and put the cheese up.
3.) The next layer make as many or few slices of gherkins as you want.
4.) The final forms a layer of crispy fried onions.
5.) Now it goes to the preserves: Cut the protruding puff pastry on both sides at the same distance obliquely, so that dough strands form.
6.) You fold the strips of dough over the filling. This is how the braided look is created. Do not forget to close the ends!
7.) Before baking, sprinkle the dough with the beaten egg and sprinkle with more fried onions.
